Accounting Manager

A client of ours is looking for an Accounting Manager for a contract role to lead and manage the month-end close process for a designated group of entities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in general accounting, exceptional experience with NetSuite, and a proactive approach to working with internal staff and external auditors.

Responsibilities of Accounting Manager

Lead the month-end close process for a designated set of entities, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

Oversee daily operations of the accounting team; provide guidance, training, and performance management to staff.

Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors by preparing audit schedules, providing documentation, and answering inquiries.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Maintain and improve close processes, controls, and documentation.

Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, FP& A, and Compliance.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the close cycle.

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.

Ensure all accounting records and documentation are properly maintained.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Accounting Manager

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

5+years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

Prior experience in a SaaS or technology-based company is strongly preferred.

NetSuite experience is required - must be proficient in its use for financial reporting and close processes.

Demonstrated success in managing a month-end close for multiple entities.

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Experience working directly with auditors, including providing documentation and addressing inquiries.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
