Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Capitola, California. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical accounting operations while working collaboratively with a dedicated team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial processes and a commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in compliance with accounting standards.

Assist with month-end close processes, including account analysis and adjustments.

Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Utilize accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to manage financial data efficiently.

Generate and review financial reports to support decision-making processes.

Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.

Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance and journal entries.

Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.

Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
