Job Description
The Iowa Judicial Branch has an opening for a Director of Information Technology to join our team. This position is located at the Iowa Judicial Branch building in Des Moines, Iowa.

The pay range for this position is $123,780.80 - $185,078.40 annually paid on a bi-weekly basis. This position is an FLSA exempt, non-contract position.
Summary
Direct and oversee Information Technology strategic operations and initiatives to streamline and
advance the Iowa Judicial Branch's mission and goals.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Direct operations through subordinate managers, supervisors, and staff. Enforce personnel
policies and procedures. Represent management in employment relations matters.
Assess the Iowa Judicial Branch's technology requirements and provide solutions that enhance business operations and objectives.
Evaluate adherence to state and federal technology requirements, including security and data protection.
Analyze proposed legislation affecting the Iowa Judicial Branch and determine the fiscal impact of proposed and approved legislation.
Develop policies and procedures to ensure the protection of Iowa Judicial Branch information.
Direct maintenance and upgrades of hardware and software systems.
Develop and implement Iowa Judicial Branch technology updates and training for employees.
Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
Identify and address problematic areas proactively and implement strategic solutions.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies that can improve Information Technology performance and Iowa Judicial Branch operations. Ensure staff obtain and maintain training or certifications for evolving technologies.
Develop annual information systems budget and efficiently manage resources and risk. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of technical management, information analysis, computer hardware/software
systems, data center management, and data governance.
Knowledge of data management and administration.
Presentation and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to secure confidential information.
This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.
Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
The incumbent must meet the minimum requirements to qualify for the position.
Bachelor's degree.
Ten (10) years of progressive experience in computer science, management information systems, information technology, or related experience.
Four (4) years of experience as a leader of a multi-level organization, or a deputy role, with strategic decision-making experience.
Industry-recognized professional certification in information technology is preferred.
Experience may be substituted with related education on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.
