As a Software Tester at V2X supporting the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND), you will play a key role in delivering high-assurance decision support tools that enhance situational awareness and force protection in environments threatened by physical and CBRN hazards. Working closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, and program stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), you will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies-covering functional, regression, integration, UAT, and performance testing-to validate both new features and existing capabilities. Your efforts will ensure system stability and mission readiness in both pre-deployment and operational settings.
In this role, you will also lead the development and integration of automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman, and K6. You will validate containerized applications running in Kubernetes environments, ensuring proper configuration of deployments, Helm charts, and service meshes. Additionally, you will assess data quality, support ETL validation, and contribute to test data management and analytics tooling. With strong collaboration and communication skills, you will coordinate across technical teams and stakeholders, provide test findings and quality metrics, and participate in customer-facing validation events to support fielded system readiness and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
Core Testing Responsibilities o Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new and existing functionalityo Perform functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance (UAT), and performance testing to ensure system stability and qualityo Conduct operational testing and verify post-deployment functionality across environmentso Ensure quality gates are met for all releases, including infrastructure, application code, and configurations- Automation and CI/CD Integrationo Develop and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actionso Implement and optimize continuous testing strategies for microservices and containerized workloadso Use frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, Postman, REST-assured, or K6 for end-to-end and API testing- Container and Kubernetes Testing o Design and execute test plans for microservices-based applications deployed on Kubernetes clusterso Validate containerized deployments using tools like kubectl, Helm, and Kustomizeo Test Kubernetes configurations including YAMLs, ConfigMaps, Secrets, volumes, service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd), and network policies- Data and Knowledge Managemento Conduct data quality assessments and validate ETL pipelines where relevanto Contribute to improving data governance, test data management, and analytics tooling- Collaboration and Communicationo Serve as a technical consultant to development, security, and DevOps teamso Work with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria, success metrics, and test environment requirementso Present test results and quality trends to both technical and non-technical audiences, including customer stakeholderso Participate in on-site testing engagements with representative customer environments and provide findings reports- Participate in on-site testing engagements with representative customer environments and provide findings reports

Working Environment:

Qualifications
Education / Certifications: - Minimum:o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (BSCS), Information Technology, Software Engineering, or other related fields. - Preferred but not required:o Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or other related fieldso Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP)o CompTIA Security+o Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Experience: - 2-4 years of professional experience in software testing or QA- Strong hands-on experience testing applications deployed in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)- Proficient in creating and maintaining automated test frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines- Experience validating Kubernetes deployments, YAML files, secrets/configs, and using tools like Helm and kubectl- Deep understanding of API testing, web app testing, and performance/load testing- Familiarity with microservices architecture, service discovery, and distributed system testing strategies- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their basic services- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including DevOps, SRE, security, and developers- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and tools like Terraform, with a focus on testing and validating infrastructure changes- Basic scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python) for test setup or environment scripting- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders
