We are looking for an Assembler to join our tam in Chicago heights, Illinois.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Assembler is responsible for grinding, welding, fitting, and assembling all steel, iron, and manganese rail points for track work related products to the specifications provided by engineering.

The Assembler is part of a team who is responsible for assembling all steel, iron, manganese components and switch points for track work related products to the specifications provided by our customers and engineering.

Task and Responsibilities:

Safely operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks.

Build specialty track assemblies for the railroads.

Assemble various turnout components such as switch points, frogs,

plates, etc.

Ability to operate hand tools and power tools, ie: sledgehammers,

pry bars, special track installation tools.

Able to work with a team environment with little supervision.

Adhere to Nortraks Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures,

Practices and Policies.

Routine cleanup of work area.

Able to work outside in all weather conditions year-round.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:**

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.

Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Regularly lift and move up to 20-25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
