GPI seeks land surveyors (instrument operators) at our Morgantown, WV office. We are looking for high-energy candidates with good work ethics who want to participate in field surveying and technical work. You will be part of a team that enjoys an engaging and collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will learn survey terminology and equipment, conduct field measurements required for technical survey work, and learn to set up tripods and other survey equipment. Experience is not required; we will train the right individual in the field and office. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established engineering and survey firm.

This role involves the operations of survey data collection instruments for survey crew activities. The Survey Instrument Operator reports to the Party Chief and Sr. Survey Manager and is responsible for the operation of survey equipment, including metal detectors, GNSS receivers, data collectors, total station and robotics, levels, and supporting equipment. This position has the overall responsibility to maintain field equipment. Support field survey team in the development of quality deliverables while working safely and efficiently and maintaining high utilization goals.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate daily task assignments and project prioritization with the Party Chief and Sr. Survey Manager.

Uses established workflows and procedures for operating equipment.

Collect topographic and boundary evidence data utilizing a field-to-finish format.

Assist Party Chief with field procedures, survey notes, sketche
