As the Security Associate Manager at Banner Ironwood Medical Center, you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the security department, ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, assets, and property. You will manage a team of security personnel, conduct risk assessments, implement security protocols, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will play a critical role in developing and maintaining a safe and secure working environment for your team as well as our patients, staff and visitors.
Schedule: 12:00pm - 6:00pm Wednesday, Thursday - Saturday 6:00am to 6:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY
This position plans and manages the security program for the system area assigned and will have responsibility for multiple facilities. This includes managing security officers, security activities and staff at multiple facilities to ensure security needs are met, as well as providing protection for system property and equipment. Plays a key role in developing and implementing security policies and procedures for the facilities.
CORE FUNCTION
Hires, trains, conducts performance evaluations, and directs the workflow for the security staff within assigned region. This position plays a key role in the development and implementation of department policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Ensures all goals and objectives are met timely and effectively.
Develops, plans, prioritizes and directs overall department work assignments for department staff members. Provides leadership and directs the work of all department staff in the absence of the department director or senior manager.
Develops and maintains productive working relationships with hospital administration and management by ensuring effective communication and positive customer relations.
Monitors and oversees the tracking and trending of employee, patient, and visitor security data. This includes managing all incident reports and field investigations. Presents findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Schedules and supervises the work of assigned staff to achieve the defined business goals and to ensure smooth workflow in the department. Coordinates security activities and the staff-to-workload ratios to accomplish the most effective use of resources. Sets work goals for team members and monitors measurable outcomes in accuracy, timeliness, productivity and service quality.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Will have direct managerial responsibility for multiple facilities assigned. Internal customers include all levels of organizational employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and volunteers. External customers include law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies, security system vendors, schools and neighborhood associations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of security through three years of hospital security, law enforcement, or military experience, of which one year must be leadership experience or equivalent experience. Must demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills. Must be results oriented and able to independently supervise multiple security departmental processes and activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform physical requirements of the position. Capabilities will be demonstrated through the successful completion of similarly related skills testing. Employees are required to successfully demonstrate the physical requirements before starting in the role. This Physical skills assessment will then be conducted on an annual basis and employees must successfully meet the requirements to remain in role.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have successfully completed high school or equivalent education.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
