Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our insurance client's growing accounting team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records.

Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing schedules and analyses.

Perform account analysis and identify discrepancies, working to resolve them in a timely manner.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.

Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures.

Provide support to other members of the accounting team as needed.

Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3 years of relevant accounting experience.

Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
