Senior Director - Construction Capital Procurement
Reports to: AVP of Global Capital and Strategic Real Estate Procurement
Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced construction contracts and procurement professional to join our Capital Procurement and Strategic Real Estate team. This role is pivotal in supporting our company's ambitious multi-billion capital expansion plans in the next decade. This role will lead our construction capital procurement team at a new greenfield start-up site. The ideal candidate will have experience leading and developing construction procurement teams that support mega industrial capital projects. A deep understanding of construction capital procurement life cycle is essential. Successful candidate will be responsible for the acquisition of engineering, automation, equipment and construction services by leading supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management with key global suppliers, as well as providing account management to ensure alignment between Procurement and its business partners.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Lead procurement for engineering, automation, equipment, and construction categories. Develop strategies, manage supplier selection, negotiate contracts, and maintain supplier relationships.
Project Leadership: Oversee sourcing efforts at new greenfield sites in the US through all project phases. Ensure a cost-effective, resilient supply chain supporting development and commercial manufacturing.
Collaboration: Coordinate sourcing activities across categories and contribute to project steering committees to address commercial issues and remove barriers.
Client Engagement: Understand business clients' strategies and key success levers. Lead commercial efforts for capital projects in procurement, contract management, scope and change management, cost and financial management, and risk and issue management.
Expertise & Efficiency: Provide procurement expertise through your team, prioritize projects, and align business activities to support work-life balance.
Compliance & Performance: Ensure transactions are FRAP compliant, achieve performance targets for savings, diverse spend, inflation management, supplier consolidation, and risk management.
Team Development: Coach and develop capital procurement project leaders and team members to enhance performance, efficiency, and collaboration.
Governance: Engage in internal and external governance activities to exert procurement influence, provide commercial leadership, and establish execution strategies.
Supplier Management: Ensure robust category strategies, regular supplier relationship management, current contractual relationships, and appropriate supplier risk management.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in scientific, engineering, business, supply chain, procurement or other related degree.
Minimum of ten years Capital Project Procurement sourcing related experience/roles

Additional Preferences:
Experience delivering large capital projects, > $1B in value
Demonstrated mastery of core sourcing skills - account management, category and supplier strategy development, spend analysis, sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
Previous procurement sourcing experience with demonstrated strategic business results, influential internal & external leadership interactions, and collaborative supplier relationships.
Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, or lead teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience building relationships, influencing, and working effectively without formal reporting relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Prior pharmaceutical capital sourcing experience.
Prior leadership/supervision experience.
Experience managing major third-party relationships including selection, contracting, governance, and problem resolution.
Experience and knowledge of cGMP manufacturing environment

This is a full time position at an existing or new Lilly site
Flexibility to support sites in multiple time zones is required.
Travel percentage: 5-10%, international travel required.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$150,000 - $220,000
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
