Our Waltham, MA location is looking for someone to join the Advanced Manufacturing Technician team. This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 10:30 am to 7:00 pm.

General Description of the Position:
The Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) will be part of the Atlantis AM COE team developing, launching, and growing advanced manufacturing production at the Waltham site. The AMT will manufacture products using additive manufacturing, milling, and post print/milling processing. The AMT will also perform preventative maintenance on equipment, initiate and participate in continuous improvement projects, and define/document processes.
Principal Responsibilities :
Operate equipment in the Atlantis AM COE (including multiple additive manufacturing and additive machines) simultaneously including preparing, loading and unloading of material.
Work with CAD/CAM and 3DP software to review/modify designs and program/operate equipment.
Use manual, semi-automated, and automated processes to manufacture and inspect Atlantis products.
Manufacture products using detailed instructions in full compliance to all associated regulations, internal QMS, and PPE requirements.
Assist in the development, startup, and validation of the Atlantis AM COE production process. The AMT will learn, develop, and document the standardized processes enabling Atlantis AM COE machining, additive manufacturing, and post print/milling processing. Documentation will consist of work instructions, standard work times, visual aids, calibration routines, 5S, validations, etc.
Inspect parts for conformance to specifications, detect non-conformances, identify cause, and make necessary adjustments to correct issues found.
Conduct regular maintenance routines and troubleshoot difficulties with the equipment or in the process using their working knowledge of digital and mechanical manufacturing processes. They will lead activities to address problems systematically.
Provide training and technical support to new AMT's and Atlantis Operations cross-trainees to the standardized processes and monitor the process adherence to these standard work instructions.
Utilize their lean manufacturing training to contribute to continuous improvement activities. They will keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly, and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on machines and supporting equipment.
Communicate globally and work with international Development, Engineering, and Production staff from multiple Dentsply Sirona locations. They will need to travel occasionally to these sites to work and train with their manufacturing teams.
Proactively seek additional cross-training and other work tasks as conditions warrant.
Initiate, lead, and/or participate in continuous process improvements including idea generation, root-cause analysis and solution implementation.
Education/Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience working in a Windows-based Network environment.
Experience working with small precision parts under a microscope.
Qualifications:
Experience documenting work procedures using MS Word or Excel. Must be able to communicate effectively in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
Experience developing machining strategy and selecting tooling and work holding solutions, as well as programming and setting up additive manufacturing equipment.
Experience with precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales.
Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
Experience performing routine preventive maintenance as well as identifying and performing minor repairs on equipment.
Must be able to physically lift 50 lbs occasionally and move materials with palate jacks, dollies or other material transport aids.
Have an excellent attention to detail.
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
2 years of experience operating additive manufacturing equipment independently in a fast paced production environment preferred.
Thorough understanding of additive manufacturing theory along with strong problem solving skills to be able to troubleshoot advanced process problems and issues preferred.
Thorough understanding of the equipment in order to troubleshoot advanced problems and issues with equipment preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with a basic understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning preferred.
Experience with 3D designs in a CAD/CAM environment (e.g. Rematic) preferred.
