Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Franklin, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data and ensuring accuracy in record-keeping. You will play a critical part in managing various accounting functions and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and map historical financial data to ensure accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.

Process incoming invoices, ensuring proper allocation to the balance sheet, accounts payable, and inventory.

Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in compliance with accounting principles.

Collaborate with vendors to track and resolve liabilities unique to the business.

Conduct regular reviews of the general ledger to identify and address discrepancies.

Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and present financial data effectively.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all accounts are reconciled.

Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting roles, particularly in accounts payable and receivable.

Strong proficiency in bank reconciliations and general ledger management.

Skilled in preparing and posting journal entries with attention to detail.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies effectively.

Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication skills for collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
