This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering State (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin). Effective June 1, employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 50 or more miles away, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance are eligible to telework up to 100% of the time.

As an Information Technology (IT) Auditor, you will evaluate and assess the Department's information technology internal control environment across the enterprise, to include all aspects of managing and maintaining controls to ensure they comply with relevant regulatory, legal, and industry standards and that they operate effectively and efficiently. The incumbent will conduct risk based IT Audit activities and is responsible for reporting the results of audit activities to management on a periodic basis.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

Maintains the Department's information technology control environment across the enterprise in collaboration with MNIT Services.

Participate in agency-wide domain teams and cross agency teams and committees that plan, decide, direct, implement and create policy around all DHS program areas and governance of METS with MNsure.

Act as the Agency's lead contact on external audits focused on Information Technology controls.

Coordinate and support formal updates and communications from DHS Administrations to Senior Management on Information Technology reviews for all Federal and State IT audit activities, both internal and external.

Evaluating, developing, and executing strategies for increasing awareness of, and monitoring compliance with, information technology internal controls.

Conducts investigations into data incidents that occur in the agency.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of specialized professional experience in IT audit work or network security. Experience must demonstrate the following:

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively present to a wide variety of audiences.

Knowledge of IT standards, guidance and frameworks such as NIST, COBIT, GDPR and COSO.

Knowledge of risk assessment and internal control methodologies.

Familiarity with IRS Publication 1075.

Basic understanding of Azure Information Protection (AIP), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CIA, CFE, CCEP, or CPA.

Knowledge of the goals, programs, and operating procedures of DHS.

In depth knowledge of data security concepts and principals.

Ability to effectively influence and make broad-based strategic and operational decisions.

Strong analytic and problem-solving skills to manage a wide range of issues and problems, communicate issues and alternatives, establish courses of action, develop and implement solutions, and assess results.

Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
