Who We Are

Sunrun is on a mission to make solar energy affordable for more people. We help people upgrade their home to solar energy without the big upfront costs. Sunrun is dedicated residential solar company in the country and has a mission to bring clean, solar power service to the masses.

This position reports to our San Francisco, CA office. May telecommute. Salary offered: $124,842/ year.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze electric systems for a high volume of residential rooftop solar design (20% of the time).

Provide Electrical Engineering support for Site Technicians, Designers, Permit Coordinators, and Installers (16.25% of the time).

Manage high production volume of project design and calculations for PV projects efficiently while maintaining quality (20% of the time).

Research engineering requirements for potential new PV markets (16.25% of the time).

Special Projects: development of Standard Operating Procedures, New Product Research, MPU Savings, etc. (22.5% of the time).

Provide onsite field inspections and Observations Reports when requested (5% of the time).

Qualifications

Bachelors or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Solar Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.

PE license in FL, MA, TX, CO & NV or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months

18 months exp. as an Electrical Engineer, designing solar PV and battery backup systems, performing electrical analysis of systems, applying NEC requirements and code implementation to stamp residential PV projects, and using AutoCAD for 2D and 3D CAD modelling, PVsyst, Aurora Solar Software, & MATLAB.

The starting salary/wage for this opportunity is in compliance with the local wage requirements.

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, based on both company and individual performance, as well as short- and long-term incentives and program-specific awards. Compensation decisions will not be based on a candidate's salary history. Please note: Employee benefits do not apply to our Fusion and Street Sales roles, which are 100% commission-based, (1099-NEC) positions.
