Job Title: Jr Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Jr Accountant to join our team. This role involves processing payments, managing ledgers, and providing exceptional customer service. You will be instrumental in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations, ensuring precise documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

Process payments to outside vendors.

Maintain general ledger postings.

Manage the petty cash fund.

Interact with both internal and external customers.

Post deposits to the bank.

Reconcile monthly billing statements.

Manage supporting documentation for all transactions.

Provide heavy and frequent internal and external customer service.

Maintain spreadsheets for current cost analysis reviews.

Support payroll accounting to ensure accurate payroll processing.

Address and resolve vendor inquiries.

Perform deposits using remote capture deposit.

Audit and create invoices.

Assist with collection efforts as needed.

Assist the accounting team with various duties.

File, copy, and scan documents.

Escalate issues when appropriate.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent experience (degree is a nice-to-have).

1+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the long-term care industry.

Working knowledge of medical health insurance benefits.

Proficiency in Excel including P-Tables and VLOOKUP.

Experience with journal entries, general ledger posting, invoicing, cash application, chargeback, and collections accounts receivable.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office at a long-term care facility. While there will be patients around in the facility, the role will primarily involve working in an office setting. The environment fosters teamwork and offers a supportive atmosphere. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
