Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to oversee key financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our organization's bookkeeping activities. This role involves preparing journal entries, managing payroll processes, reconciling accounts, and contributing to month-end financial close procedures. Join our team in Columbia, Tennessee, and play a vital role in supporting our growing business.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain accurate financial records to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Perform monthly and year-end reconciliations for bank, credit card, and vendor accounts.

Prepare journal entries and financial reports as part of month-end and year-end closing processes.

Oversee daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.

Process payroll functions, including reviewing wage payments, reimbursements, and cost allocations.

Allocate expenses across departments and projects while tracking adherence to company travel policies.

Collaborate with various departments to support organizational financial goals and provide insights.

Assist in the preparation of financial data for audits and special projects as required.

Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting tools to streamline financial processes.

Continuously monitor and improve financial procedures to enhance efficiency. Requirements - Associate degree in accounting required; bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Teams.

Strong mathematical skills with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.

Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
