Electrical Test Engineer

This position is eligible for per diem for candidates outside of a 50 mile radius from Costa Mesa, CA.

Job Description

The Electrical Test Engineer will design and deliver test systems for electronic products. You will identify gaps in test coverage and own the design and delivery of the hardware and software test solutions. Additional duties include test plan definition for new products and new features, supporting the software, firmware, and hardware design teams. You will also design and execute PCBA and electrical components with hands-on testing and rework, as well as design and implement next-generation test automation hardware systems to facilitate fast and repeatable testing of products.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver test systems for electronic products.

Own the design and delivery of hardware and software test solutions.

Design and execute PCBA and electrical components with hands-on testing and rework.

Develop and validate test automation from component level to system level.

Manage product lifecycle of Test Automation Systems, including Requirements, Design, Build, Integration, and Deployment.

Support software, firmware, and hardware design teams.

Essential Skills

BSEE or equivalent degree

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering

Circuit design and analysis

PCB schematic capture and layout

Experience with Altium or similar

Experience in building automated test stations is a plus

Familiarity with Oscilloscope, PCBA, and hardware testing

Requirement management and test plan development

Component selection

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in developing 8+ layer PCBs through the entire product lifecycle

Ability to design and deliver complete test solutions

Experience in developing test and validation strategies

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00/hr.
