Project Overview:
Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business that serves the increasing demand of EPC services for customers in the semiconductor (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); electric vehicle (batteries, charging infrastructure, and production); synthetic materials; and data center markets.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-SM2
Major Responsibilities:
PFS Tier I - most applicable to Area Superintendents and PFSs on projects (
Leadership / Supervision (Supervision of discipline and lead superintendents with 100+ craft)
Proactively engages with their team's development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback
Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
Planning / Productivity
Determines workforce requirements.
Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Tools, Materials & Equipment
Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
Safety & Quality
Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
Technical
Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Logistics & Site Enablement
Early site access, laydown, haul roads, and utilities must be planned and delivered ahead of crews.
Coordinate parking, bussing, gates, badging, and material flow paths to minimize interference with direct work.
Own just-in-time delivery strategies, crane access zones, and vertical transport (hoists, lifts).
Prevent bottlenecks through tight integration with the lookahead schedule.
Temporary Facilities & Worker Welfare
Ensure sufficient and well-maintained break areas, toilets, tool cribs, lighting, and power.
Plan for scalable welfare infrastructure: canteens, water stations, shaded rest areas-especially in extreme climates.
Deliver on commitments to safety and comfort. A well-run indirects plan reduces worker fatigue, increases morale, and improves productivity.
Cost Control & Change Management
Track burn rates, optimize usage of temporary resources, and manage rentals vs. owned equipment.
Forecast duration and cost of indirects as the project evolves-especially through delays, re-sequencing, or scope growth.
Manage vendor scope creep and standby charges ruthlessly (e.g., fencing, lighting towers, water trucks).
Be ready to justify indirect costs and defend budgeted durations.
