Accounts Payable Accountant

ManTech seeks a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team in Herndon, VA. This is a hybrid position which will require up to 2 days onsite in Herndon, VA.

The Accounts Payable Accountant will maintain responsibility for the daily oversight of all Accounts Payable functions, ensuring meticulous adherence to established company policies and procedures. This role will play a key function in facilitating acquisition related support and will proactively identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and ensure the accurate and timely completion of all departmental deadlines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Identify and implement process improvements within Accounts Payable, increasing efficiency and accuracy.

Serve as a point of contact for employees, vendors, and internal departments, addressing inquiries regarding invoices and payments with professionalism and efficiency.

Integrate Accounts Payable systems and processes from acquired companies, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.

Manage vendor ACH requests, stop payments, and weekly cash disbursements. Ensure accurate invoice processing by reconciling purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.

Reconcile vendor statements, research payment issues, and process necessary corrections.

Maintain and update Accounts Payable master files and system configurations to optimize performance and data integrity. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including 1099 preparation and account reconciliation.

Assist with external and internal quarterly and annual audits and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business and 2 or years of relevant Accounts Payable experience; an additional 6 years of accounting experience as well as knowledge of the full-cycle AP process may be substituted for a degree

Proficient with PeopleSoft 9.2 and Costpoint 8 AP module, or similar ERP system

Full cycle working understanding of Accounts Payable function within an ERP system

Experience with Outlook or Gmail, and a Service Desk environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to professionalism

Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including advanced knowledge of Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree is preferred

Knowledge of the full-cycle AP process

Clearance Requirements:

US citizenship is required. No clearance is required

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
