Day to Day

The Architecture Governance Team (AGT) would significantly benefit from a TF5 who can partner with other TF5s who are looking to simplify their architectures, onboard onto the Architecture Diagram Generator, and manage change to their architectures via ADRs. The idea is to use this TF5 as forward-deployed architect; their responsibilities/activities would include:

Assess architectural complexity of our domains (https://indeed.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/eng/blog/2024/12/04/454821476/Naming+Domain+Leads+to+be+Accountable+for+Architectural+Quality) in partnership with Domain Leads. Rotate across each domain for 1 month.

Use the Architecture Diagram Generator as a tool for assessing complexity. Drive feedback to the AGT for improving functionality and insights.

Socialize the use of ADRs as a tool for maintaining @context on why architectures are changing.

Success in this role would include:

Observable simplification in our overall architectural complexity;

Significant contributions to the Architecture Diagram Generator's functionality that are aligned with overall Indeed R&D goals (https://indeed.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/eng/blog/638355964/Indeed+R+D+FY25+Engineering+OKRs) ;

Building deep expertise across our domains.

This role requires an L5 SWE/TF given its breadth, architectural/systems thinking requirements, communication skills requirements, and ability to deliver code.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Technical Fellows and PM leadership to help drive simplicity into our architectures.

Communicate requirements back to the Architecture Governance Team to improve tooling and process for our users.

Implement features in the Architecture Governance Team's applications as available.

Skills/Competencies

12+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying with a proven track record of on-time delivery for large, cross-functional projects;

Experience with service-oriented architectures, APIs, SQL and NoSQL;

Solid sense of ownership as a technical and product principal;

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal for technical and business audiences.

Education Requirement : Bachelor degree: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field

Salary Range Transparency

US Remote 196,000 - 284,000 USD per year

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
