We currently have ONE part time career opportunity available to join the HKNC team as an Administrative Assistant/SSP for our Director of the Information, Research, and Professional Development (IRPD) department. The Administrative Assistant/SSP is responsible for the provision of administrative assistance, communication support, and support service provider assistance which will include providing visual and environmental information and some communication support for the IRPD Director.

Preference will be given to candidates located in the Santa Rosa, CA area. This position requires travel locally and periodiclally to our headquarters in Sands Point, NY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Process requisitions, receipts, credit card statements and other fiscal paperwork for the IRPD department

Assist with gathering and presenting department data for reports

Manage department activity and zoom calendars

Submit and manage department interpreter requests

Take notes during meetings and provide communication assistance during meetings

Support travel arrangements for IRPD department staff including Director, Research Specialist and Director of Professional Development Support access to online admin platforms (i.e. Concur, Blackbaud, ADP)

Support fiscal management (i.e. Reading and inserting info into financial spreadsheets)

Support editing documents (i.e. reading aloud and taking verbal instructions for edits)

Support facilitation of running Zoom meetings (i.e. providing visual info, supporting communication)

Support travel (i.e. sighted guide, communication support, driving)

Support online access/research (i.e. take verbal instructions to navigate the web to research information, fill out forms, etc.)

Responsible for other duties as may be assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor and/or the Director of the Department.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in related field.

Experience working with people who are DeafBlind or those with disabilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, Teams, and other applications such as Zoom and web browsers

Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn, fiscal and human resources platforms such as ADP and Concur

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Demonstrated commitment to completion of projects in a timely manner.

Must possess a valid driver's license

Strong writing skills

Strong communication skills

Pay Rate: $25/ hour - 20-25 hours per week.

Location- Santa Rosa, CA (preferred)
