Description

Robert Half is partnering with a Construction company on an Accounts Payable Supervisor opening. The role will report to the Controller of this growing company. The role is 100% on site in the Denver area.

The Accounts Payable Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining compliance with internal controls, and supporting project and operations teams across multiple construction entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and lead the AP team, including hiring, training, performance management, and daily workflow oversight.

Manage full-cycle accounts payable for multiple entities and job sites, including coding, approvals, and disbursements.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of a high volume of invoices, expense reports, subcontractor pay apps, and retention payments.

Oversee and maintain vendor records, W-9s, and ensure compliance with lien waiver and insurance certificate requirements.

Coordinate monthly AP close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.

Maintain and improve internal controls and processes to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Procurement to resolve invoice discrepancies and support project cost tracking.

Support ERP upgrades, automation initiatives, and best practice implementation.

Collaborate with accounting leadership on cash management and forecasting needs.

Ensure compliance with company policies and construction-specific regulations, including job costing and retention.

Prepare and review reports including AP aging, payment schedules, and vendor analyses.

Requirements

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.

5+ years of accounts payable experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.

Experience working in the construction industry and managing AP across multiple entities or divisions.

Familiarity with job costing, subcontractor billing, lien releases, and retention processes.

Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, or Procore AP integrations).

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
