Tax Senior for Deloitte Tax LLP in Denver, CO to assist clients to manage state tax liability and such challenges as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Services include business restructuring, credits and incentives, state income and franchise tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and passthrough clients. Identify complex tax issues. Oversee complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries. Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues such as deferred tax liability issues and tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Undertake tax compliance assignments for current and former executives of client corporations and partners of client organizations. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for corporate and passthrough clients. Perform a detailed technical review of partnership and corporate state tax returns and work papers with attention to multistate tax issues such as apportionment, state modifications, nexus, unitary filings, and flow-through taxation. Develop client service relationships and facilitating specialized Deloitte Tax services to improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client's overall tax risk profile. Will commute within the Denver, CO area to consult with clients regarding the above job duties.. Requires: Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience preparing and reviewing tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provisions for corporations and partnerships in multistate jurisdictions. Experience must include eighteen months of: providing income and franchise tax consulting, tax planning, state tax audit defense, and income tax accounting services for multistate companies; preparing and filing K-1s, withholding and composite returns for partnerships and limited liability companies, including private equity funds; utilizing tax research tools, including CCH and BNA, to research complex tax issues relating to tax law changes, regulations, or tax cases; utilizing tax preparation software, including Corptax and GoSystem, to prepare corporate and partnership state and local tax returns; performing state taxation services, including state apportionments, modifications and state and local credits calculation, based on varying state regulations; assisting with mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve state tax notices, audits, or other tax-related issues/inquiries; and preparing complex tax technical memos and responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs) and various tax notices. Less than 10% domestic travel outside normal commuting distance. Salary: $68,180 - $126,620/yr.
