Together.Summary DLA Piper seeks a non-partnership track senior employment attorney for its Short Hills, NJ and/or New York, NY office. Education JD Bar Admission Admitted to practice in New Jersey and/or New YorkResponsibilities The Senior Attorney will be handling litigation management, legal research, legal drafting, and other litigation-related tasks for class action as well as single plaintiff cases, including but not limited to matters involving alleged failure to pay wages and/or bonuses, off-the-clock work, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination. The Senior Attorney will also be handling employment law advice and counsel matter; drafting and negotiation of employment, termination/severance, and related agreements; and may also conduct employment due diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions. Other advice subjects include restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, employee policies/training. and leave of absence/accommodations (FMLA, ADA) issues. Experience Minimum 8 years of experience in labor and employment, including litigation, advice and counsel, and transactional work. Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws, discrimination laws, and practice before state and federal court and administrative agencies. Experience in the defense of class and collective actions, , provide day to day advice and counsel to our wide range of clients, and support for complex corporate transactions.
