Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician. The core hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $33.11 per hour.

What you'll do:

Eaton is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and participating and/or leading continuous improvement / cost out initiatives across the organization. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization's strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements

Responsible for assisting the manufacturing engineers in all areas of responsibility with primary focus on manual process checks, machining conformance to standards and the maintenance and documentation of work instructions

Provide technical support and instruction for group leaders and operators on proper assembly techniques

Maintain routing and visual work instructions

Assist in the investigation of root cause for non-conformities and implementation of corrective action

Assists in developing and maintaining robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices.

Implements methods and practices to reduce variation. Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) of variation

Promotes culture of continuous improvement and understands lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer's expectations.

Identifies and eliminated 8 lean wastes.

Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Associate degree or 2-year technical certification in a manufacturing operations/skilled trades from accredited institution or equivalent experience.

Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

Higher education degree in a manufacturing operations, skilled trades, or engineering from accredited institution.

Minimum of one (1) years' experience in a manufacturing/operations or military environment.

Minimum six (6) months experience in working with the lean tools in a manufacturing environment.

Skills:

Position Criteria:

Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.

Good understanding of blueprints/schematics

Good understanding of Microsoft word & excel

Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.

Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance.

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.

Demonstrated experience and competency with Microsoft Office.

Demonstrated experience with interpreting & applying blueprints/schematics.
