Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a dynamic seafood distribution company for a 3+ month hybrid opportunity in the Los Angeles, South Bay area. This role is perfect for senior accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced and complex industry environment. The Senior Accountant will execute critical accounting functions, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and support the company's operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Perform accurate and timely reconciliations of bank accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies as necessary.

Conduct general ledger account reconciliations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and fixed assets.

Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and standards.

Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, account analysis, and the preparation of supporting schedules.

Generate financial reports and statements, providing detailed analysis and insights on operational and financial performance.

Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and external regulations while collaborating with auditors during financial audits.

Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations and procurement, to support informed decision-making and financial planning.

Monitor inventory accounting processes, particularly for perishable products, to ensure accurate valuation and reporting.

Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manage data analysis, create pivot tables, and develop complex formulas.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with senior-level responsibilities preferred.

Industry experience in food distribution, foodservice, or logistics is highly advantageous.

Proficiency in accounting software; experience with systems like NetSuite or Oracle is strongly preferred.

Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting principles and general ledger management.

Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to solve problems effectively.

Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
