Purpose:
The Marketing Manager of Health Care Provider (HCP) Promotion for XTANDI will be a key member of the brand team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing HCP promotional programs based on market knowledge, customer insights, and brand strategy. This person is responsible for strategic development and flawless execution of promotional tactics. This colleague is responsible for ensuring and modelling strong cross-functional alignment in the Brands@Center Operating Model and ensuring execution with key partners, especially other members of the brand team, Market Access, CI, Sales, CL&D, Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs, and agencies. Provides strategic input on key brand building opportunities. Serves as primary marketing contact with field team to support and enhance promotional activities and materials.
Specific responsibilities will evolve based on the lifecycle of the brand and competencies required on specific projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Drive the tactical development of HCP focused programs to overcome business obstacles, drive market share, and achieve sales targets. Continually seek opportunities to innovate and bring ideas to realization. Measure effectiveness on an ongoing basis and recommend & implement changes accordingly.
Serves as the primary marketer responsible for field direction, communication, and training on brand strategy, competitive events, and product milestones (among others). Works closely with CL&D and sales operations to develop the core training programs at key Sales meetings. Leads core promotional execution and communication around internal product milestones and competitive events.
Collaborates closely with the sales field team to enhance marketing programs and execution by overseeing sales/marketing collaboration team meetings, creation of field direction memos, printing of materials, and creation/deployment of digital tools for increased productivity such as digital sales aids, virtual interactions, and collaboration sites.
Lead marketer for the effective execution of the XTANDI free trial program including coordinating with all key stakeholders across marketing, sample operations, supply chain and leadership.
Ensure that materials and programs are highly effective and compliant by owning projects and gaining approval through the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review process.
Manage outside agencies in HCP tactical planning, project estimate development, time management, budgeting, and execution of projects.
Will be assigned projects to support the brand that may not fall directly within these responsibilities at times. This will be evaluated on a needs basis as well as for development.
Contribute to the annual brand and tactical plan for HCP promotion.
Complete work in an ethical and compliant manner.
Quantitative Dimensions:
This position will directly impact the sales performance for XTANDI. It will also directly impact the A&P budget based on the efficient use of resources including management of vendors, negotiation for services, and monitoring of budget. It will also indirectly contribute to the sales of other oncology and other franchise brand sales by collaborating across brands to share and leverage best practices across Astellas.
Organizational Context:
This individual will report to the Lead, XTANDI HCP Promo/Payer Marketing within XTANDI Brand@Center. This position will need to fully develop working relationships with our collaboration partner and internal colleagues from other departments. This role requires high levels of collaboration for success and will need to be consistently demonstrated through the sharing of ideas that leads to creative strategies and implementation of solutions.
Working Environment:
This position is based in Northbrook, IL and will require some on-site work.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of related, relevant experience (i.e., marketing, sales, sales training, market research, etc.)
Strong understanding of US market dynamics, regulatory influences, compliance constraints, and market access
Strong project management skills with the ability to proactively manage competing priorities
Strong written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence without direct authority
Ability to present and discuss complex issues to higher level management
Ability to create, implement and iterate impactful action plans
Experience owning projects through the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review process, preferably for a partnered product
Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred:
MBA degree or other related graduate-level degree
Oncology or experience in a specialty field such as Urology
Pharmaceutical sales/account management experience
Experience working in a partnership / co-promotion
Experience in support of launching new data
Compensation Range: $131,300 - $175,000
(NOTE: Final Salary could be more or less, based on experience.)
