Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with expertise in probate administration to join our team. This role involves supporting attorneys specializing in estate planning, probate, and trust administration with administrative, document management, and client-facing tasks. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and handles sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.

Key ResponsibilitiesProbate Case Management:

Prepare and file probate-related legal documents (e.g., petitions, inventories, and accountings) both electronically and manually.

Track case deadlines, ensuring hearings, filings, and legal proceedings are properly scheduled and met.

Client Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for probate clients, responding to inquiries and providing updates on case progress.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions.

Document Drafting & Review:

Draft and proofread legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate pleadings.

Prepare estate settlement agreements and collateral legal documentation with a high degree of accuracy.

Court and Administrative Support:

Manage electronic filing of probate court documents and coordinate hearing dates with court clerks.

Collaborate with attorneys to compile information and materials needed for case preparation.

Recordkeeping:

Organize and maintain accurate physical and electronic records for probate and estate files in alignment with firm protocols.

Track estate accounts, distributions, and other relevant case milestones.

Legal Research & Analysis:

Conduct probate-related legal research and assist in interpreting case-specific issues.

Support attorneys in preparing case summaries and ensuring compliance with relevant probate laws.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Paralegal certification or relevant education in probate or legal studies is a plus.

Experience in law firm settings, particularly within estate planning, probate, and trust administration teams.
