Description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Belmont, CA (onsite position). This role is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in residential property management and the ability to handle multiple portfolios. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to month-end closings, cash management, and asset oversight while leveraging your expertise in real estate accounting systems. Duration: 1-2 Months

Responsibilities:

Oversee the accounting functions for a portfolio of multiple multi-family residential properties.

Perform month-end closings, including reviewing financial reports and reconciliations.

Manage cash flow operations, including accruals and distributions such as cash and property.

Track and maintain fixed assets with a basic understanding of straight-line depreciation.

Utilize real estate accounting platforms such as RealPage, Yardi, or MRI to manage financial data.

Conduct balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Prepare general ledger entries and ensure proper journal adjustments.

Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to provide clear financial insights and updates.

Analyze financial data to support decision-making and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Maintain a high volume of transactions with precision and efficiency.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within residential property management.

Proficiency in real estate accounting systems such as RealPage, Yardi, or MRI.

Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and general ledger reconciliations.

Experience in managing cash flow operations, including accruals and distributions.

Familiarity with fixed asset management and depreciation methods.

Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

Ability to think strategically while managing detailed accounting tasks.
