Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In this contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in accounting operations for a non-profit organization. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise to a meaningful cause.

Responsibilities:

Process and track accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions accurately and efficiently.

Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with actual account balances.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly documented.

Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

Assist with month-end closing procedures, including generating necessary reports and balancing accounts.

Utilize Sage Intacct software to manage and streamline accounting tasks.

Apply fund accounting principles to ensure compliance with non-profit financial regulations.

Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and improve accounting processes. Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and handling month-end close procedures.

Familiarity with Sage Intacct software or similar accounting platforms.

Expertise in fund accounting principles specific to non-profit organizations.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
