Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The Universal Film Ultimates FP&A team is hiring a Manager, responsible for worldwide film ultimate and P&L forecasting, analysis and communication for the consolidated Film Group. The role is in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with "what-if" scenario analysis (release date, performance expectations, etc) for strategic film decisions
Prepare pre and post release analysis of films for senior leadership and pacing, including arranging and leading meetings to walk through key financial impacts
Analyze and report film ultimates for all tracked film releases
Assist in consolidation of budgets, quarterly estimates & long range plans
Oversee and ensure accuracy of weekly standardized FP&A reports
Assist with P&L forecasting activities and administration of film forecasting system
Collaborate with finance teams from across the 11 film business units to ensure coordinated processes and timely reporting
Provide coaching, review, and oversight of work performed by Financial Analyst with potential for future people management responsibilities
Work closely with leadership on ad-hoc projects, analysis, and presentation.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Minimum of 4+ years of finance experience
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Solid communication skills demonstrated across a complex organization
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced knowledge of Excel including formulas, pivot tables, advanced spreadsheets; experience with VBA, macros, data visualization preferred but not required
Proven ability to work independently and efficiency under aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment, be effective and decisive under pressure
Able to deliver on multiple assignments which requires strong organization and prioritization skill
Prior film or entertainment industry experience preferred but not required
Takes initiative and lead on projects
Inquisitive and able to think through interdependencies of processes
Proactive approach to problem solving; strong work ethic and follow through
Attention to detail and ability to work with large amounts of data in Eclipse (system), excel, other financial sources
Leadership skills to guide, influence, and coordinate multiple business units by building strong working partnerships
Ability to operate and communicate effectively across diverse cultural and business environments; strong interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively handle sensitive and confidential matters
Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations
