Role Summary:
The NBCUniversal Music Business & Legal Affairs department oversees music matters across the NBCUniversal portfolio, including TV, Filmed Entertainment and Parks & Resorts. Although this position will be primarily dedicated to NBCUniversal's TV & Streaming (including NBC News, NBCUOTS, Sports & Olympics, Late Night & Specials) division, this role may also assist other clients across the business, as needed. The Contract Specialist- Music Business & Legal Affairs role will specifically support the SVP, Music Business & Legal Affairs, other attorneys and professional staff in the department.
Essential Responsibilities:
Under supervision of a senior attorney, negotiate, draft, review and interpret an extensive range of agreements, including, but not limited to, composer, recording talent and producer agreements, soundtrack distribution agreements, and license agreements
Assist with research, creating deal summaries and maintaining and otherwise administering day-to-day contractual and operational matters, including data entry, preparation of letters and memoranda to internal and external clients, presentations to senior-level management, etc.
Provide general risk assessment, advice and support to the business
Generally support the other attorneys and professionals in the department; including special projects and overflow tasks
Basic Requirements:
1+ years experience in a professional role requiring strong analytic and organizational skills and careful attention to detail, as well as a Bachelor's Degree; OR (2) a Juris Doctorate Degree
Superior communication, interpersonal, drafting, analytical and organizational skills
Self-starter, high level of motivation, ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal skills
Proficient in Outlook Calendar, Contacts
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
