Job Title: Mixer and Stage Materials Operator (2nd & 3rd shift)
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Mixer and Stage Materials Operator to manage and oversee the mixing and compounding processes. This role involves interpreting batch schedules, operating various forklifts and electric hand trucks, accurately weighing ingredients, maintaining and cleaning equipment, and ensuring quality control by transferring samples to the lab.
Responsibilities
Mix and stage materials for compounding.
Interpret batch schedules to correctly label production packaging.
Operate sit-down, stand-up forklifts, and electric hand trucks to move materials and finished products.
Utilize mobile and floor scales to accurately weigh compound ingredients, raw materials, and finished products according to batch records.
Load, maintain, monitor, and clean blenders, mixers, and production weigh areas.
Perform cleaning tasks including running cleaning cycles, removing excess materials, replacing filters, and cleaning blades and tanks between batches.
Operate packaging equipment and palletizing systems.
Pull and transfer samples to the lab for quality testing.
Ensure all small ingredients are weighed and labeled correctly.
Utilize the proper tools for the job.
Collect data on production areas.
Essential Skills
Experience in mixing, chemical compounding, and operating batch mixers.
Forklift and machine operation experience.
Proficient in using HMI and maintaining batch records.
Strong attention to detail.
Computer knowledge for batch sheet logs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ideally 3 - 5 years of experience in compounding or batching in a manufacturing environment (minimum 2 years).
Experience in extrusion or injection operations or operating ribbon blending machinery.

Work Environment
This position requires working on either the 2nd shift (2:45 pm - 11:00 pm) or the 3rd shift (10:45 pm - 7:00 am), Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on weekends. Initial training will be on day shift for about 2 weeks. Expect to work 45-48 hours per week. The manufacturing environment involves non-temperature-controlled areas, which can be very hot in summer and around 60 degrees in winter. The dress code includes mandatory removal of all jewelry, tying up long hair, wearing steel-toed shoes, long pants, short sleeves without cut-offs, and protective gear like hearing and eye protection. Some areas require N95 face masks during certain tasks. Teams are smaller, working in raised, enclosed workstations with a partner.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
