Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Software Test Engineer Position @type: Permanent Duration: Fulltime Location: Minnesota, US As a Software Test Engineer, you will: Innova has a need for an experienced Software Test Engineer with a solid track record of completing assignments in a high volume, dynamic environment. The position is responsible for supporting internally developed applications and various commercial off the shelf (COTS) products used throughout the organization. Tasks include architecture, analysis, and design; coordination across multiple departments and projects; troubleshooting and resolution of related issues; bug fixes; Java software; testing; and documentation. The focus is on Java and testing, which requires a strong background in automation testing. This project uses Playwright for its end-to-end tests with a big focus on API backend testing. Technical skills include expertise in Java and Playwright. The ideal candidate will excel when working independently and, on a team, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, exhibits strong initiatives, and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment working with a wide variety of products and technologies. The ideal candidate will have: Self-starter that makes daily accomplishments and moves the project forward. Candidate must possess strong teamwork, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal direction. Design and develop automated tests. Work with the product analysts, technical leads, developers, and QA analysts to understand and document requirements. Ability to work in an Agile Scrum team to design, develop, and hand-off software project deliverables. Collaborates with team, stakeholders, and others to understand issues/problems and implement sound technical solutions. Ability to balance workloads, skill sets, technical knowledge, and criticality of the tasks. Responsible and accountable for the on-time completion of tasks and projects, demonstrating a commitment to meet established deadlines and priorities. Back-end is Java. Playwright is used for end-to-end testing and there is a need for strong automation testing. There is a focus on backend API testing. DevOps is Git and Azure DevOps. Experience developing and implementing automated unit and functional tests. Willingness to adapt to technology stack(s) called out by project needs. Required Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science, Business, or related discipline preferred. Or relevant and demonstrated experience. Good to have skills: Experience in or knowledge of object-oriented programming. Experience in or knowledge of automated functional, end-to-end, and integration testing using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, TestCafe, WebdriverIO, or similar tools. Experience in or knowledge of mock testing and mock frameworks. Experience in or knowledge of security and authentication, such as OAuth. Experience in or knowledge of developing automated build and release pipelines. Experience in or knowledge of creating test suites in Azure DevOps. Experience in or knowledge of Pair Programming.
