Support critical defense operations as a Software Systems Engineer, Craftsman in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, you will develop and apply software solutions to evaluate the performance of ground-based missile warning systems. Your work will directly impact national security through operational testing, data analysis, and performance assessments. Contingent Upon Award Pay: $155,000 - $170,000 Essential Duties Software Development & Testing Develop software tools to support operational testing of DoD mission systems. Design and implement software solutions to analyze mission data and assess system performance. Conduct real-world and simulated environment testing to evaluate system effectiveness. Data Analysis & Reporting Apply statistical methods using platforms like MATLAB to analyze test data. Generate detailed test reports with statistical results, graphs, and findings. Identify deficiencies and provide recommendations for system improvements. Collaboration & Process Improvement Collaborate with engineers, test analysts, and project managers to ensure test requirements are clearly defined. Provide technical support for test planning, execution, and post-test analysis. Develop and enhance automated tools to improve test environment efficiency. Required Qualifications 6-10 years of experience in Software Engineering. Proficiency in MATLAB. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in programming languages: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, Perl, and scripting languages. Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems. Familiarity with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Bitbucket/Gitlab, Confluence). Strong understanding of statistical methods, including data distribution, sampling, and regression analysis. Experience with DoD mission systems and operational test planning. Knowledge of US Space Force test and evaluation directives. Familiarity with missile warning or missile defense systems. Education & Certification Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred OR additional years of experience may substitute for degree requirement. Clearance Top Secret/SCI Travel Less than 10%.
