Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in North Spokane area. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll data processing and assisting with the cleanup and auditing of payroll records. This position requires precision, strong organizational skills, and a high level of focus.

Responsibilities:

Compile and organize payroll data from different reports into a structured Excel sheet.

Audit and reclassify employee earnings to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Address discrepancies with payroll checks and resolve issues related to W-2 forms.

Utilize Paylocity and Excel to process payroll for approximately 300 employees, including calculating hours, benefits, and union dues.

Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements and other related payroll standards.

Support data entry tasks to maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records.

Perform thorough reviews of payroll data to identify and correct errors.

Collaborate with team members to streamline payroll processes and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Requirements

Proven experience in payroll processing, including handling data for 100 or more employees.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to organize and analyze large datasets.

Familiarity with payroll systems such as Paylocity is highly preferred.

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and auditing tasks.

Knowledge of payroll regulations, including prevailing wages and union dues.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Prior experience working with W-2 forms and resolving payroll discrepancies.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
