Accountant - Entry Level

Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Southbury, Connecticut. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a strong foundation in accounting principles. If you have a knack for account reconciliation, coding, and working with accounting software systems, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Perform accurate account coding to ensure financial data is properly classified.

Utilize accounting software systems and ERP tools to manage and analyze financial transactions.

Prepare and post accounting entries while maintaining precise financial records.

Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Support accounts payable (AP) processes, including invoice verification and payment processing.

Analyze financial accounts and provide insights to enhance financial reporting.

Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.

Use tools like Adobe Acrobat and Dynamics NAV to streamline accounting functions and documentation.

Assist in preparing reports and summaries for management review.

Ensure timely completion of all assigned accounting tasks and responsibilities. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a related role.

Proficiency in account coding and maintaining accurate financial records.

Strong knowledge of accounting software systems and ERP solutions.

Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Dynamics NAV is highly desirable.

Experience in performing account reconciliations and preparing journal entries.

Solid understanding of accounts payable (AP) and other accounting functions.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
