Paralegal/Senior Legal Assistant - Vallejo, CA

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our team, you will have a mix of administrative and legal duties, including:

Supporting civil litigation matters, particularly unlawful detainers, with the opportunity to assist on probates/estate planning cases.

Handling calendaring, electronic filing, and ensuring compliance with court rules and processes.

Propounding and responding to discovery, preparing proofs of service, and subpoenaing business records.

Drafting and preparing legal documents and assisting with document organization.

Collaborating with attorneys and staff to ensure all files are updated and deliverables are met on time.

Supporting general office responsibilities, including occasional phone coverage in our small-firm environment.

Keys to Success

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organized and detail-oriented to help keep attorneys on track and ensure deadlines are met.

Experienced with civil litigation (minimum 1 year required, more preferred) and knowledgeable in court processes, calendaring, and drafting documents.

Comfortable pitching in wherever needed and maintaining a team-oriented mindset.

Familiar with probates/estate planning, or willing to be trained in these areas.

A certified notary public - not required but a plus!

Requirements

Worksite & Schedule

Fully onsite in Vallejo, CA.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours/week).

Compensation & Benefits

Target salary: $50,000-$55,000 for a legal assistant. Higher salary consideration for an experienced paralegal.
