Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Consultant to help one our clients as they are preparing for a busy second half of the year. This hybrid role, based in Salinas, California, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing finance team in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing fixed assets, overseeing month-end close processes, and preparing detailed journal entries.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, analysis of financial statements, and resolution of discrepancies.

Prepare and post journal entries for both routine and complex transactions, ensuring precision and adherence to accounting standards.

Calculate and adjust accruals and deferrals to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits by providing required documentation and expert insights.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting team.

Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies while handling financial records.

Generate detailed reports and analyses to support decision-making and financial planning.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate accounting, with expertise in fixed assets and month-end close processes.

Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles and practices.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas, as well as experience with QuickBooks Online.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a hybrid work setting.

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Ability to adapt to evolving processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
