Medical scribes, or medical transcriptionists, assist physicians or other healthcare professionals by performing clerical tasks and taking notes during patient consultations. Medical scribes generally use an electronic health record (EHR) system to record the patient information.

Primary Location: 201 NJ-17 Fl 11, Rutherford, NJ 07070 with coverage required in Maywood and Bayonne

Hours: Monday - Friday between 7:00am & 5:00pm. Every other Saturday between 8:00am & 1:00pm

Specialty: Cardiology

Primary Responsibilities:

Accurately scribe as the physician is examining patient

Maintain adherence to transcription quality assurance standards

Demonstrate appropriate grammar, punctuation and style standards when transcribing/ editing provider dictations

Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pharmacology

Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology for appropriate medical specialties

Demonstrate knowledge of medical / surgical procedures and equipment for appropriate medical specialties

Demonstrate knowledge of medications / dosages for appropriate medical specialties

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Bi-lingual English and Spanish (speak, read, write)

Preferred Qualifications:

Work experience as a medical scribe in a fast-paced clinical environment

Experience with Epic EMR

Solid understanding of medical terminology from education or previous on-the-job training

Ability to @type 60+ words per minute

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
