Overview
Vice President, Medical Director (FREELANCE)
Responsibilities
Use medical expertise and strategic thinking to enable expanded scope of work for existing clients
Identify new clinical developments and implement strategic knowledge to drive promotional efforts
Collaborate to develop and communicate medical strategic POVs and recommendations to teams/clients
Educate internal staff on medical topics relevant to client's brands
Analyze clinical data, conduct literature searches, participate in medical conferences, competitive analyses
Direct copy writers in developing medical content and review their work; on occasion, develop copy
Direct creative art directors to create accurate medical and data visualizations
Identify sources consistent with industry standards for referencing and citations
Ensure the medical integrity, relevance, and strategic alignment and pull-through among content/projects
Help ensure compliance with Med/Legal processes
Qualifications
This pivotal role requires a depth of expertise (7-10 years of relevant experience, with an advanced degree preferred), including a track record of impactful work experience and professional ingenuity - which means you are:
Minimum of an advanced degree in healthcare (PhD, MD, or in a healthcare or science field)
At least 5-7 years of agency or pharmaceutical (or biotech) industry experience
Familiarity with pharmaceutical marketing principles, regulations, and practices.
Writing and editorial experience
Must be capable of working both independently and in a team environment
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint

Compensation Range:? $98,000-165,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
