Job Title: Welder

Job Description

The Welder is responsible for weld preparation and set-up, welding and finishing operations to ensure quality parts are produced to print, within established production standards. Proficient in assigned welding techniques, which may include MIG, TIG, and spot welding. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of wire and filler materials specific to metals being welded and must be able to read blueprints and interpret bills of materials and routings. This role requires the ability to prioritize work and respond to the demands of various departments. Reliability, cooperation, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

Responsibilities

Prepare and set up for welding operations.

Perform MIG, TIG, and spot welding.

Ensure quality parts are produced according to prints and production standards.

Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, and routings.

Prioritize work and respond to the demands of various departments.

Maintain high attention to detail in all welding tasks.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.

Knowledge of wire and filler materials specific to metals being welded.

Ability to read blueprints and interpret bills of materials and routings.

Reliability and ability to cooperate with team members.

High attention to detail and work independently as well as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.

Preferred 6 months of previous manufacturing experience.

Entry-level welders will be considered.

Work Environment

The manufacturing floor is not climate controlled, meaning it is cool in the winter and can be hot in the summer, with large fans blowing during the summer months. The team setting requires everyone to pull their weight and have an ownership mentality. The work hours are from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch or 6:00 am to 4:00 pm with a 30-minute paid lunch, Monday through Thursday, with overtime required on Fridays as needed. Flexibility to work overtime as required is essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
