Software Programming for Cutting Edge SCADA Systems!!

Job Description

As a Software Programmer, you will be responsible for the programming, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Power Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. You will work closely with our clients to ensure the smooth operation of their power infrastructure, providing technical support and resolving issues in a timely manner. This role requires strong programming skills, an understanding of electrical systems and SCADA software, and excellent problem-solving skills. Minimal travel required (5-10% and all local in MD).

Responsibilities

Perform programming using C#, C++, C, Python, VBA (Role is 80% software programming!)

Install, configure, and commission SCADA systems for power distribution and generation facilities.

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, database management, and system backups.

Monitor SCADA systems for performance issues and troubleshoot hardware or software problems as they arise.

Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement system upgrades or modifications.

Conduct site visits to assess equipment condition, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.

Document all activities, including installation procedures, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting steps.

Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while working in field environments.

Essential Skills

Proficiency with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, VBA, and Python

Knowledge in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, GE Proficy, Siemens WinCC).

Understanding of PLC ladder logic, scripting, and protection relay configuration..

Experience with communication protocols like Modbus or DNP.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

Previous experience working with Power SCADA systems in a field technician role is highly desirable.

Willingness to travel to client sites and work outside of normal business hours when necessary.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
