Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Maine. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic real estate and property organization. The role requires expertise in managing accounting processes and delivering accurate financial results within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and precise transactions.

Assist with journal entries and month-end close procedures to maintain financial integrity.

Collaborate on special accounting projects to support organizational goals.

Verify and analyze financial data to ensure compliance with company policies.

Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

Provide support for financial reporting and analysis as needed.

Work closely with the team to address and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and journal entries.

Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
