Description

We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Wilsonville, OR. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, including cost accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory management. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment while enhancing your expertise in accounting and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

Perform cost accounting functions, including analyzing and managing cost data to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Record and reconcile over and under billings to maintain precise accounting records.

Manage inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation of materials.

Oversee revenue recognition activities in compliance with applicable standards.

Close work orders and ensure all associated costs and revenues are properly allocated.

Analyze sales data and revenue trends to provide insights for decision-making.

Review monthly material usage and labor hours to ensure proper project cost allocation.

Handle month-end closing tasks, including booking entries into COGS and reconciling inventory balances.

Manage accounting for fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and asset tracking.

Oversee prepaid expense accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements

Proficiency in Accounting Software/ERP systems.

Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.

Demonstrated experience in revenue recognition and inventory accounting.

Expertise in performing month-end close activities and reconciling financial data.

Familiarity with fixed assets accounting, including tracking and depreciation.

Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
