Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Monmouth County, New Jersey. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical accounting operations while working in a collaborative and detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to improving processes.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, coding invoices, analyzing accounts, and performing monthly closings.

Reconcile various accounts as part of month-end processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Oversee fixed asset accounting, including maintaining accurate records and schedules.

Support external auditors during year-end audits by preparing schedules, explaining supporting materials, and providing necessary data.

Prepare monthly inventory reports and ensure all financial records are properly documented with supporting materials.

Collaborate with other departments to design and implement effective internal controls.

Work closely with the Information Management team to enhance and modify accounting and management systems.

Generate monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and budget variance reports.

Recommend process improvements to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Build strong working relationships with operational and sales teams to support business objectives.

Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a solid understanding of GAAP principles.

Proficiency in balance sheet and profit and loss account reconciliations.

Skilled in month-end closing processes, journal entries, and financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and various accounting software packages.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.

High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.

Prior experience with project management accounting and process improvement initiatives is a plus.
