Job Description

WILLING TO TRAIN FOR THE RIGHT INDIVIDUALS

The overall objective of this position is to provide high quality craftsmanship when assembling copper bus and similar conductive material using best in class installation techniques in order to contribute to a team focused on achieving industry leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and assisting in reducing per unit costs.

Demonstrate a mastery level of proficiency in executing workmanship on all production projects to include large line-ups and complex sections in areas of assembling and installing copper bus into enclosures, per drawing packages and instructions defined by the Engineering Department.

Install and mount conductive material into electrical enclosures by reading and comprehending schematics or documents, to efficiently build customized equipment in order to meet and exceed deadlines.

Offer guidance and knowledge as a subject matter expert to others when working on complex projects or participating in cross-functional teams.

Influence standards, processes, or technical development of junior bus assemblers through mentorship and training on proper techniques and execution.

Interpret and apply advanced manufacturing knowledge and principles while reading specifications to make determinations on bussing parts, methods, sequencing and advising various team members or departments of errors to technical drawings as a means of proactive quality measures.

Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards and best practices to perform tasks optimally.

Maintain operational excellence by completing necessary paperwork such as Engineering Corrective Reports, Non-Conformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports, and Material Transfer Requests.

Required Skills

Production and Processing - Knowledge or raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: screw drivers, ratchet and sockets, crimpers, wiring cutters, tape measures, ban saws, air tools, and inspection mirror.

Active Listening - The ability to give full attention to when others speak and taking time to understand the points being made; asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times

Verbal & Written Communication Skills - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand and the ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

Time Management - The ability to manage one's own time and contribute to the effective us of

others'.

Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Quality focus - The ability to establish and exceed high standards of excellence in all elements of work by carefully following procedures and striving for accuracy.

Teamwork/Cooperation - The ability to correspond and collaborate with both peers and leaders.

Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, you hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position

Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

Math Skills - This position requires intermediate math skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.)

Multi-limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.

Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Customer & Service Orientation - The ability to initiate and actively seek ways to help people.

Required Experience

5 years of work experience assembling copper bus, or similar materials, into electrical control equipment in a manufacturing facility required.
