REPORTS TO: Continuous Improvement Manager
SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Process Engineer develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, using knowledge of assembly & test processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and control systems. Interaction and involvement with multiple functional groups within the plant is necessary to successfully execute the requirements of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Plan and implement new products and/or changes to the manufacturing processes and work areas.
Supply support to Quality Department and Quality Engineer as needed.
Review processes and procedures on an on-going basis for safety, quality, and production efficiency improvement opportunities.
Develop test plans and processes following customer requirements using value analysis, and other techniques including P.F.M.E.A and control plans.
Lead continuous improvement projects by using V.S.M, Gemba Walks, P.D.C.A, Pareto analysis, Data Collection and other Lean Six Sigma Methods.
Review all production methods for compliance to quality, safety, and performance standards and for improvement of product.
Basic understanding of project management.
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements, process improvements and potential ability.
Be able to measure and document process work elements through time studies and creation of work instructions.
Proven experience in team environment with leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge and experience in Project Management process
Desired knowledge in Continuous Improvement methods.
Good knowledge of manufacturing technologies including assembly techniques, machines, work area layout/ design, control systems, pneumatics, and vision systems.
Required Experience:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or 7 years related experience training in a manufacturing environment; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to be self- Motivated and driven to create positive changes.
Ability to understand the operational requirements of Bard units.
Strong hands-on working skills.
Knowledge of health, safety, ergonomics and environmental regulations and practices.
Ability to work as a member of a team dedicated to continual improvement of Safety, Quality, On time Delivery, and Productivity.
Must be a team player.
Strong structured critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, Schematics, drawings, and models.
Must be very detail oriented and analytical.
Six sigma trained. Minimum Green Belt certification preferred.
Proficient in MS office & Viso software.
Must be able to: (1) work independently with minimal supervision, (2) balance workload with multiple priorities, and (3) take multiple paths to resolve issues.

Computer - Basic understanding of ERP system(s), Microsoft Word, Excel and Viso
