Under the supervision of the ReStore Director, this position assists with a wide variety of tasks to support the Habitat Greater Fresno Area ReStore site. This is an entry level position, and the employee will receive training as part of performing each aspect of the job. Alongside other employees, the position ensures that volunteers, customers and donors have positive experience in alignment with the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area (HFHGFA.)

Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $18 - $18 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Box Truck Driver:
Pick up, and occasionally deliver, donated supplies and materials for the ReStore
Drive Restore vehicles to donor sites as instructed by Manager or his/her assignee, as determined by VD her/himself, or by routine route as may be provided
Ensure all donations are loaded, transported and unloaded in a safe, organized, and timely manner
Maintain loading areas in clean, efficient, and workable conditions
Return donor calls on a timely basis
Organize pick-ups for optimal efficiency and punctuality
Screen products offered for donation for compliance with acceptance standards and effectively communicate exceptions to donors
Interact effectively with donor or donor representatives when acquiring donations
Effectively and professionally partner with, and supervise, other paid or volunteer staff assigned to assist the VD
Coordinate and communicate effectively with warehouse employees regarding the nature of the donations and the related off-loading and handling requirements
Exhibit positive working attitude by demonstrating respect for fellow workers, donors and customers
Coordinate collection and dumping of trash accumulated at the store to trash recycling center
Assist with other duties as may be indicated by the supervisor

Job requirements:
High school degree or equivalent
A clean driving record
Minimum one year Driver experience or related
Some experience operating a forklift and/or scissor lift equipment (preferred)
Volunteer management experience preferred
Bilingual skills a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiar with driving patterns in the Fresno and Madera County areas
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Exhibit reasonable mechanical aptitude about equipment and vehicles
Ability to take direction and complete assignments with or without supervision
Ability to maintain a calm, courteous demeanor in a fast-moving work environment
Ability to interact with a wide variety of personalities with professionalism, respect and compassion
Strong verbal and written English skills

Able to lift up to 70 pounds, stand, squat, bend and climb in and out of a truck
The employee is regularly required to reach, push, and pull with hands and arms; and use hands and fingers for using large and small loading/unloading tools
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds alone, or team-lift up to 300 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, and visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and paper documents
Hearing abilities required for telephone and in-person conversation with volunteers, donors, customers, coworkers, and third parties
Jeans or shorts, and a ReStore logo shirt are the preferred dress code for ReStore employees
Torn or tattered jeans, pants or sagging pants are not acceptable
Shorts need to be 4 inches above knee or longer
A plain T-shirt, work shirt or casual shirt is preferred
No sleeveless T-shirts or shirts with inappropriate decals/designs are allowed
All other outerwear must be free of any offensive or suggestive materials
Work boots are the preferred footwear for ReStore employees. Tennis or running shoes are also acceptable
Open toed and/or open backed shoes are not allowed
