Job Title: 1st Shift UPS Shipping Clerk

Job Description

A distribution company that manufactures automotive parts is seeking a long-term shipping clerk/warehouse worker for the 1st shift. The role involves receiving and restocking inventory, dispatch, and managing overstock. The position requires loading and unloading materials from trucks, breaking down boxes, packaging items for shipment, and using order rolling stairs, pickers, and RF scanners to fulfill orders.

Responsibilities

Receive and restock inventory

Dispatch and manage overstock

Load and unload materials from trucks

Break down boxes and package items for shipment

Use order rolling stairs, pickers, and RF scanners to fulfill orders

Assist Warehouse Supervisors as needed

Pick orders utilizing stairs to reach material for the automotive industry (rolling stairs may range from 7-15 steps long)

Essential Skills

Experience with picking, RF scanners, packing, and packaging

Experience with pallet jack, unloading, loading, order picking, inventory, warehouse inventory, and shipping and receiving

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Comfortable utilizing rolling safety ladder (5-7 steps), and occasionally a 15 ft stair ladder

Ability to speak, read, and write English

Ability to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms

Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or squat

Comfortable moving in a fast-paced environment and working individually (self-motivated)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Forklift training will be provided upon direct hire, leading to an extra dollar per hour

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually high due to forklifts and other machines running through the facility. The work schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with mandatory overtime up to 2 hours daily and occasional Saturdays. Employees are required to wear plain shirts, jeans (no holes), and closed-toed shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
