Position Summary
Manufacturing solder process developer - responsible for all aspects of the SMT and wave solder PCB manufacturing process (development, sustainment, and productivity activities). Create SMT programs, reflow profiles, and wave profiles as required to assure consistent quality for all manufactured products. Make recommendations for equipment, tooling, and process requirements for new and existing product lines. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements (cycle time, reliability, quality, etc.). Provide rapid technical solutions needed to maintain manufacturing continuity. Support all company metrics regarding safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform project management functions for NPI with respect to solder process development
Interface with Design Engineering to identify and develop build strategies
Initiate and develop solder methodologies and documentation
Specify and implement SMT and wave solder automation solutions
Develop, debug, and deploy SMT and wave solder solutions for new and existing products
Provide leadership/mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
Train junior engineers and sustainment technicians on new and existing equipment, procedures, fixtures, systems, and technologies
Support company safety, quality, reliability, cycle time, productivity, and on-time delivery objectives
Work to all relevant ISO and quality procedures
Minimum five plus years of SMT and wave solder process development and sustainment experience
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and statistical process control skills
Panasonic SMT equipment experience
Five years project management experience with strong planning/management skills
Experience in Lean concepts
Team oriented attitude and ability to work in a dynamic, goal-oriented environment
Ability to mentor others
Superb verbal and written communication skills across all manufacturing functions and personal
Strong technical skills needed to develop and report key performance metrics of the PCB manufacturing process
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
6+ years of experience in directly managing industrial engineering projects/teams
Strong expertise in manufacturing processes and systems
Proficiency in using industrial engineering tools and software
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and leadership abilities
